Maternal Health Services provides comprehensive antenatal, postnatal as well as well woman clinic services in more than 15 health centres and clinics throughout the country. Antenatal and postnatal services are provided free to all women regardless of their citizenship status. This policy ensures that all pregnant women receive optimum care and achieve the best standard of health throughout their pregnancy and during postpartum period. The well woman clinic service, meanwhile provides free comprehensive health screening for female citizens and permanent residents as well as for spouses of male citizens and permanent residents between the ages of 38 to 65 years. This screening allows early detection of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolaemia, anaemia as well as breast and cervical cancer with subsequent early intervention.
