Cervical Cancer Screening


  • Cervical Cancer Screening Programme is a screening programme for cervical cancer to allow early detection and treatment of cervical cancer when you do not have any symptoms and/or signs of disease. Cervix is the lower part of the womb (uterus) that connects the womb (uterus) and vagina.

  • The Cervical Cancer Screening involves performing a PAP Smear test which is a test that can detect cervical cancer in the early stages. This test involves scraping cells from the cervix then the sample will be sent to the laboratory for analysis.

  • Eligibility:
    a.    Any women who are Brunei citizens and permanent residents aged 20 to 65 years
    b.    Sexually active
    c.    No previous history of cervical cancer
    d.    Not had Pap Smear done in the last 3 years
